Sweet Paige is 6!

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for surprising the kids with bikes and a ramp!! Paige sure had a great birthday. I am so glad we live close enough for visits.
Ben stuck in the sand again.
Avery made the cake! She made a bunny out of marshmellows on it with a cracker basket.

Easter Weekend

Our weekend was full and wonderful. We had the day off on Friday, Justin's parents came down and stayed the weekend with us. Paige turned 6 but because a few of the kids weren't feeling well we didn't have anyone else over. Saturday was Payton's baptism which was neat timing. After his baptism was the church lunch and Easter egg hunt. Sunday was of course Easter and we enjoyed the messages about Christ at church and enjoyed our Easter dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Meredith.

I think it would be fun to try a different kind of an Easter egg hunt. I want to try just releasing a bunch of chicks and ducks and say they took too long finding the eggs, they hatched in a field and have the kids go find them. They had just as much fun finding our little guys and way less sugar. :-)
The real Easter Bunny.
My kids usually only hear about the Easter Bunny at school but Saturday before Easter we were getting the horses out and came across these two teeny tiny little baby bunnies. We figured they must be lost if they are out on their own. They were too cute. They were so small they could squeeze through the rabbit cages little rectangle cage bars. They had escaped by morning but we did feed them and gave them our heat lamp for the night so we did what they could. I just thought the timing of finding them couldn't have been more perfect. We caught the Easter bunny!
Spring Pear Bunnies- Still yummy
Paige's picture for me.
We of course had traditional Easter (thick paper plates not foam) rice crispy treat nest with a few candies inside and as a family watched the "He is Risen" bible video online. I sure enjoyed watching them. It kind of made the whole Easter really understood and appreciated. I will try to add the link below

Family Pictures

Payton's Baptism

I can't say how proud I am of Payton. I love him so much and can't believe how quickly he grew from a sweet smiley baby to a handsome boy with so much spirit and wisdom in 8 short years. It is crazy to try and describe what such a milestone means when it actually happens to your own child. I am so glad we have him in our family! We love you Payton!

Payton's first Pine Wood Derby

Payton's Big Night
He got 3rd place!
Super Big thanks goes to the Lesters for being the Derby Guru and making it so fun for the whole family.
I love how excited Payton is for scouting. What a fun thing for him.
His is on the right. I think he painted it all by himself. Dad might have touched up a few spots. But this car was started a few years ago when Justin was making cars and Payton wanted one just like the one on the front of the box. Justin cut it out with a hand saw and that is as much as was done. But that was nice because he turned 8 just a week or two before the race. We didn't even have time to go buy a kit. The rest was painted the night before the race and wheel added the same day. He is already making plans for his next one. He is pretty sure he has it all figured out. :-)

Back yard campfire

Justin found a $5 awesome tent at the thrift store. So it was camp out time. The kids LOVED having a campfire in our back yard and roasting marsh mellows. Ben reminded me that David makes the best, but I think Justin is the golden toaster in our family. Yummy. Of course the tent is a two man tent. Avery and Payton tried to stuff their whole room into for sleeping comfort.

Star gazing.
Hope you can see some faces in this dark picture. I don't have anything to edit my pictures yet.

Picnic in Camelot

Back in March we had a fun Saturday having a picnic at a cool park with fun friends. Justin ran 10 miles that morning and then came to the park where some men were having a soccer game. He sure was worn out but was a trooper to let the kids play some more and even did some shopping in before going home. What a long but fun beautiful day.

Every inch of that playground was useful and fun to explore, wish I could map it all out because it was THAT cool!
