Kings Dominion

For Walt's work they had a party at Kings Dominion which is like Silverwood or Disney land. We were pretty lucky to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa at such a fun place.

My Kids

So I found on a friend of a friends blog a special for a Mothers Day Photo session. I loved the photos taken of this family and had been thinking for some time that I really wanted to get GOOD pictures of my kids. On another friends blog she challenged all those moms out there to take a few photos of yourself for your kids to look back at and remember what their mom was like when they were little and you are still young.
Well with those two things on my mind I was more then a little excited to find this deal that was sooo cheap and by someone who did amazing photos. So I made the leap and decided to do it. At first I thought is was with in an hour here in Virginia. So I was a little discouraged when I found it was in Pennsylvania. But I was too excited to back down and decided to go through with it. So we booked a session and planned to meet in Washington DC. Well on the rainiest day of the rainiest week we decided there was a slight chance of there being less rain in York Pennsylvania. So I looked up the kids and we made the over 4 hour trip to a cute town surrounded by cute eastern farms.
Bonnie our photographer was so sweet and so understanding with the kids. Of course as soon as they were unbuckled they were darting across the grass and empty parking lot. We had about an hour window where it might stop raining and that was all she needed. The kids had the time of their life playing in the puddles and they sure love Bonnie and her fun and entertaining style. Avery loved the personal attention and photo shoot.
If anyone lives on the East coast I would see if she has an opening. It was worth the money, time and over 4 hour drive!!
Thanks Bonnie

Virginia Beach

Like Father Like Son... Hitting the Waves!

I only post this picture because you know that wave is about to hit the camera man. Good thing Justin had the camera and can jump. I really wasn't doing so hot on the boogie board.

Paige didn't like being knocked over in the waves, so she played in the sand and talked to kids on the beach.

Avery had fun collecting sea shells and has quiet a collection. She love swimming but didn't like the big waves.

This is Ben saying "I really think this salt water taste GROSS!" This is him after getting tumbled as he tried to get a scoop of wet sand.

Payton riding the wave

A quick clip about our trip yesterday. Payton was a natural on the boogie board. Justin was pretty good too. We were pretty impressed with the big waves and the power and some times scariness of them. Sorry I am not so smooth with the camera.

dresses and flowers

Please excuse the bad picture. Paige was very anti-pictures that day. I just wanted to show her dress. This is a dress my mom made for Avery's blessing when she was just a few weeks old, and Paige wore it for her blessing too. I was shocked the other day when Paige came downstairs and wanted to show me her "pitty" dress she found in her closet. I have no idea how she got it on but it wasn't easy getting it off. I was just starting to wonder if Paige finally is growing until this happened. A 3 yr old in a newborn dress, hummmm...

So with the extra frames we had I decided to make it a piece of artwork. It is a beautiful dress but not really a dress-up piece. I didn't do a very good job of making sure it is in straight. Opps

These are cool flowers the kids found hiding behind the roses. Does anyone have any idea what kind they are? We just liked the cool colors.

moving

Well for all who have been asking it looks like we are going to make it home this summer. We found tickets and trying to make it for all of the family reunions. Justin found out today that he has to be out of here in less then three weeks so we might as well go someplace fun with people we love.
Our next stop after our trip should be North Carolina. I can't believe we have to move so soon, I guess it is time to start packing. Can't wait to see you all, what a huge blessing it was to get these tickets!
